Introducing paid subscriptions
Most of the research and investigative work I’ve published over the years, including this Substack, has been completely voluntary… meaning unpaid. I do it because these are topics that interest me and it’s work I enjoy. That said it would be a bit easier to publish more work in a more consistent manner on here if I was receiving any level of financial compensation for it.
Therefore I’ve turned on the paid subscription option for this newsletter. Currently subscriptions are priced at $5 monthly or $50 yearly with a bonus option of paying whatever you want over $50, if you’d like to give a little extra.
Currently I plan on keeping the weekly newsletter and the weekend links post available to free subscribers. What a paid subscription will get you is access to an archive of “This week in northern Syria” and “Weekly links” posts published more than three weeks in the past.
Additionally I am considering several options for subscriber bonus content, such as book reviews, interviews (possibly in podcast format), historical essays, maps, and other assorted information I’ve saved or begun to collect over the years. For example one potential project I’m weighing is creating a database of SNA faction profiles, accessible at the top menu bar.
Any support is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Alex
